The Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee, in coordination with the Vietnam National Railway Corporation, has launched a trial run of a 6-star luxury tourist train on the Hanoi - Ninh Binh route. - Ninh Binh Travel

The 6-star luxury tourist train service between Hanoi and Ninh Binh commenced trial operation in late September 2026, with the participation of representatives from the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee, the Vietnam National Railway Corporation, and 130 representatives from travel and tourism businesses nationwide.

With the theme "Connecting Heritage Regions", the train journey allowed delegates to directly experience high-class onboard services and assess the connectivity from Ninh Binh station to tourist areas and attractions. Through this, they exchanged ideas and proposed plans for developing and exploiting railway tourism products linked to destinations in Ninh Binh.

The train is designed and organized with a focus on luxury, comfort, and enriching experiences, featuring 14 carriages, including premium passenger carriages and a dining carriage. According to the program, after arriving at Ninh Binh station, the group will continue to visit Thung Ui, Hoa Lu Ancient Capital, and Tuyet Tinh Coc before returning to Hanoi.

The combination of tourist transportation, services, cuisine, and high-end experiential spaces on board is expected to create a seamless cultural and tourism journey from the moment visitors step aboard.

Nguyen Van Minh from the Tourism Promotion Information Center (Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Tourism), said: The high-class tourist train route between Hanoi and Ninh Binh not only connects the two destinations but also aims to connect two spaces of heritage, culture, and landscape.

From the historical and cultural values of Hanoi to the heritage sites, natural landscapes, and local life of Ninh Binh province, the train journey will provide tourists with a visual and unified itinerary. Importantly, the mode of transportation is also an integral part of the travel experience.

With the premium tourist train experience program, tourism management agencies, the railway industry, and travel businesses can directly assess the entire service chain, from timing and operational quality to onboard services, as well as the connectivity between Ninh Binh station and tourist areas and attractions in the region.

The research and development of the high-end Hanoi - Ninh Binh train product is expected to contribute to diversifying ways of accessing the destination, improving the quality of the experience, and increasing the attractiveness of the travel itinerary.

At the same time, it opens up a new direction for railway tourism development, combining transportation, cuisine, and cultural experiences, contributing to the promotion of green and sustainable tourism.
